Book by Siavosh Hedayati Opens Readers to the Life Views and Perspectives of Deaf People

“Deaf: Phenomenal Life in Iran” is a fictional masterpiece by Siavosh Hedayati highlighting the ordeal of a deaf boy named Saman

People living with a disability have a different perspective on life. On this note, Siavosh Hedayati is thrilled to announce the release of his book, Deaf: Phenomenal Life in Iran, which is now available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

In the book “Deaf: Phenomenal Life in Iran,” Siavosh Hedayati delivers an unprecedented, inclusive account of the deaf worldview from the lens of an Iranian, addressing the histories and experiences of deaf people around the world, including an account of the signed languages that unite deaf communities across cultures. Mr. Hedayati beautifully narrates the story from the viewpoint of an Iranian deaf boy who finds it more challenging to communicate with hearing individuals who are not fluent in sign language.

Saman’s inability to understand other people makes it difficult for him to survive in a war-torn country. He experiences problems at school, and his family struggles to find good resources for Saman’s education in their hometown. Mr. Hedayati  narrates the good, bad, and indifferent experiences that Saman had as a deaf person. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, but it’s his true story nonetheless.

“This book aims to be eye-opening and thought-provoking for everyone involved — Deaf or hearing — so that we can take lessons from our shared humanity and evolve into stronger individuals with more understanding and compassion for one another,” explained Mr. Hedayati.

Throughout the book, the author communicates a profound lesson to the readers that regardless of all the hardships and struggles in life, there is always hope for those who never wish to give up. The ones who continue to fight and work towards achieving their goals in life are the ones who succeed no matter the circumstances. Mr. Hedayati wrote “Deaf: Phenomenal Life in Iran” with the assistance of the deaf community in Iran and his family members and friends.

The book is available in Kindle and Paperback versions on Amazon and also available on Barnes and Noble. To get the book, please visit:
