Bruce Nagel, Managing Partner at Bruce Nagel + Partners Architects was recently chosen to receive the title of Top Architect of the Decade given by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).
While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor, only 1 Architect is selected for this distinction. Mr. Nagel is being recognized for having more than four decades of professional experience as a talented Entrepreneur, Architect, Educator and he is an inspiration to his community. Mr. Bruce Nagel is an expert in the architecture field. His impressive repertoire of roles and celebrated projects have included: Faneuil Hall Marketplace project at Benjamin Thompson and Associates in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has worked as project architect for several residential and institutional projects with Richard Meier & Partners, Senior Associate at Gwathmey Siegel and Associates, where he worked on numerous public and private award-winning projects.
Mr. Nagel received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and his Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He taught Architecture at the Boston Architectural Center and has served as guest critic and juror at the architecture schools of several leading universities including Columbia, Yale, Harvard, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
The office of Bruce D. Nagel, Architect was opened in 1984 and this year marks 38 years of architectural service in the Hamptons. In 2004, the office relocated to Southampton and in 2011 located to Mr. Nagel’s studio in East Quogue. In 2016, Mr. Nagel opened his acclaimed Architect’s Gallery located at 69 Main Street Westhampton Beach, New York.
Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Nagel has received many awards, accolades and has been recognized worldwide for his outstanding leadership and commitment to architecture. He was featured on the front cover of TIP (Top Industry Professionals Magazine) and will be considered for IAOTP’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Nagel will be honored at IAOTP’s Annual Awards Gala, being held at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas for his selection as Architect of the Decade. From 2001-2009, Mr. Nagel was selected as the Best Architect in Hamptons Magazine’s list of “The Best of the Hamptons.” Mr. Nagel was selected 12 times by Dan’s Papers as the Best Architect in Dan’s List of “The Best of the Best.” In 1993 Mr. Nagel was honored by the Long Island Chapter of the AIA with its newly initiated ARCHI Award-Young Firm Award, as well as an ARCHI Award for Residential and Institutional Architecture. In 2014 Mr. Nagel received the prestigious and lifetime award of Dan's Papers "HALL OF FAME" as the Best Architect in the Hamptons.
Looking back, Mr. Nagel attributes his success to his education, mentors he had along the way and the love and support he receives from his family every day. Bruce says he has been blessed. He loves doing what he is doing and feels this is just the beginning. When not working, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. For the future, he hopes to continue making a difference in people’s lives any way that he can.
