A global recession is "somewhat likely," according to the World Economic Forum Chief Economist Outlook, and the aftermath will further drive conversations on inequality. It predicts that the global economy's prognosis is bleak, with nearly one in every five respondents now believing that a worldwide recession is likely in 2023, more than twice as many as in the last survey in September 2022 (1).
In his newest book, "Your Retirement Is History, How Historical Events Can Help Guide Your Future," author Stephen DeRosa discusses the financial tactics one might employ to ensure a comfortable retirement. He suggests we can apply the lessons that may be drawn from some of history's greatest strategists, such as Julius Caesar leading Rome’s conquest of modern-day France, Napoleon Bonaparte's consolidation of power in Europe, as well as Samudra Gupta's expansion of the Gupta empire and the unification of Northern India.
