In celebration of Earth Day 2023, Mobilo, the smart business card, will plant a tree for every card sold from April 17 to 23, 2023. The company has been at the forefront of planting a tree for every Mobilo wood card sold since 2021 as part of its care project. Now, it’s set to do the same for its plastic and metal cards sold during the said period.
“Every year, over 7 million trees are cut to produce billions of paper business cards, contributing to deforestation, water pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. This way, you prevent harming the environment with an eco-friendly business card and networking tool,” said Pieter Limburg, the company's CEO and Founder.
Made with responsibly sourced and recyclable materials, the Mobilo wood card is light yet extremely powerful. Its NFC chip allows its user to share contact details without physical touch, making transactions or networking safe and secure. A QR code at the back is designed for older phones to make video calls convenient. The Mobilo wood card is available in Birch, a light shade, and Sapele, a darker wood shade.
“It's recyclable, biodegradable, and generates the least amount of waste and pollutants in comparison to paper business cards. We will never need more than a few trees to produce all our wood cards. One tree produces 10,000 wood cards and we plant a tree for each card sold.
