Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center at Bridgewater Earns U.S. News 2025 Top Nursing Home, Short-Term Rehab Distinction

Bridgewater, New Jersey - Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center at Bridgewater, part of the Bridgeway Senior Healthcare family of companies, has been designated by U.S News & World Report as a Top Nursing Home and Top Short-Term Rehab in 2025. To help families find the best match for nursing home care in 2025, U.S. News evaluated almost 15,000 facilities throughout the country and rated them in two different areas: short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center at Bridgewater was among only 643 out of nearly 15,000 facilities to be designated as High Performing in both categories.

All Medicare- and Medicaid-certified nursing homes that were part of the July 2024 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) nursing home provider census made available in July 2024, and had sufficient data, were evaluated by U.S. News. Nursing homes did not apply nor did they provide any data or materials to U.S. News.

According to U.S. News, ratings were determined by nurse staffing, patient outcomes and whether steps known to be effective in avoiding harm and improving health were built into nursing home routines.

What makes a nursing home a U.S. News Best Nursing Home?

To be recognized as one of the 2025 U.S. News Best Nursing Homes, a home must have been “High Performing” in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care or both. 2,836 (19%) met those criteria out of the 14,832 nursing homes evaluated by U.S. News, of which 2,152 homes were High Performing in short-term rehabilitation, 1,327 homes were High Performing in long-term care and 643 were High Performing in both.

Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center at Bridgewater staff treats every resident with the utmost respect and dignity and strives to help each person function at the highest level possible by providing a fully integrated continuum of skilled services. Patient education and communication are at the core of these services.

How did U.S. News determine its Short-Term Rehabilitation rating?

The Short-Term Rehabilitation rating is based on the U.S. News assessment of nine quality measures focusing on nurse staffing, patient outcomes, facility deficiencies and processes of care. U.S. News used scientific literature review, discussions with industry experts and statistical modeling to select these measures.

This rating designates nursing homes as High Performing, Average or Below Average in the care they provided to residents who spent 100 days or fewer at a skilled nursing facility for care needed as a result of a stroke or accident, joint replacement or other rehabilitation-focused recovery.
