SASKATOON, SK: Saskatoon Dental House, a dental clinic in Saskatoon, has announced the acquisition of a CBCT machine.
Cone-Beam Computed Tomography machines are dental imaging tools that are used in diagnostics, implant planning, and a number of other dental procedures. The machines use a rotating cone-shaped X-ray beam to capture several pictures of a patient’s mouth in rapid succession, then use computer algorithms to assemble the pictures into a 3D image.
CBCT machines offer a number of advantages over traditional X-ray or CT machines. The clarity and multiple angles offered by a CBCT scan give dentists a clearer view of the anatomy of the mouth, allowing them to better detect disease and plan for treatments. These machines also expose patients to lower levels of radiation than traditional CT machines, improving patient health and safety.
Dr. Ibrahim Muradi, one of the dentists at Saskatoon Dental House, commented on how the clinic strives to use technology to improve outcomes for patients: “We’re extremely happy to have acquired our new CBCT machine,” said Dr. Muradi. “This machine will help us diagnose dental problems more accurately; we’ll also be able to spot problems earlier on, leading to better outcomes for patients. The machine also allows us to provide detailed information and feedback to patients, which improves their understanding of the issues our treatments are addressing and how the treatments will help them. This CBCT machine will help us accomplish those goals.”
