The Reinhart Foundation celebrates the opening of The Reinhart Family Early Learning Center at the Findlay Family YMCA.
Made possible through the shared vision of the Findlay Family YMCA, community leaders, and The Reinhart Foundation, the project represents a landmark investment in the future of local families. The Foundation’s $1.5 million contribution, its largest to date, helps turn the dream of a world-class early learning center into a reality that will serve children for generations to come.
“Investing in our youngest community members is investing in our collective future,” said Nickolas Reinhart, co-founder of The Reinhart Foundation and proud native of Findlay, Ohio. “This project came to life because of the incredible teachers, staff, and leaders at the Findlay Family YMCA who never stopped believing in what this community could achieve. Their passion and hard work turned an idea into a reality that will support families for generations to come. We’re honored to stand beside them and the community that helped shape us.”
Spanning 20,500 square feet, the new center replaces the 50-year-old Mary Brenner Child Development Center with a purpose-built environment designed in collaboration with occupational therapists and certified occupational therapy assistants. The $10 million facility adds 100 additional childcare spaces and includes:
- Three infant rooms
- Four toddler rooms
- Five Pre-K classrooms
- A school-age room
- A gross motor skills area
- A specialized sensory needs room
Thoughtful amenities such as a nursing mother’s room, a staff lounge, and a secure lobby emphasize the center’s holistic commitment to supporting both children and the educators who nurture them.
A defining feature of the new campus is its inclusive playground, designed so that every child – regardless of physical or developmental ability – can learn and play together. Adaptive swings, wheelchair-accessible tunnels, and communication boards for nonverbal children create an environment that celebrates diversity, empathy, and connection.
“The Early Learning Center will give families the support they need and children the opportunities they deserve,” said Stephanie Parsons, Chief Executive Officer of the Findlay Family YMCA. “It truly reflects the heart of Findlay.”
The Reinhart Family Early Learning Center at the Findlay Family YMCA is more than a building. It’s a living symbol of Findlay’s belief in its families, educators, and community spirit. It provides safe, inclusive, and inspiring spaces for growth, supports working parents who strengthen the community each day, and stands as a powerful testament to what’s possible when people come together around a shared vision for the future.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Monday, November 3, 2025, with a community grand opening celebration scheduled for Friday, November 7, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at 300 East Lincoln Street, Findlay, Ohio.
