LuskinOIC Receives Historic $500,000 Grant from The Ahmanson Foundation, Largest Donation to Date

Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children (LuskinOIC), a leading community organization committed to excellence in pediatric orthopaedics, is thrilled to announce it has received a historic $500,000 grant from The Ahmanson Foundation.

The Ahmanson Foundation grant will fund urgent facility improvements in the outpatient medical building that houses the Ambulatory Surgery Center. This latest grant, the largest to date from the Foundation in its 47-year relationship with LuskinOIC, will pay for a significant portion of the unexpected expenses that were required to improve operations during an unusually warm spring and summer.

“We are profoundly grateful for The Ahmanson Foundation’s unwavering support,” said LuskinOIC CEO and President, Dr. Anthony Scaduto. “Their generosity ensures the completion of this urgent project and allows us to utilize our capital funds already earmarked for surgical and medical improvements throughout the Institute. This continued collaboration underscores our shared commitment to the wellbeing of Los Angeles’s children. We remain profoundly grateful to The Ahmanson Foundation.”

The Ahmanson Foundation Fracture Center opened in 2020 on LuskinOIC’s downtown campus. The rehab center, proven to be a valuable contribution to Los Angeles as it has motivated the youngest patients (ages 0-4) in the community to improve coordination, and grow, has 14 exam rooms and a staff trained at monitoring injuries and diagnosing trauma. The state-of-the-art equipment at the center helps strengthen a child’s extremities by using eccentrically controlled movement, and the AlterG anti-gravity treadmill helps patients return to running activities earlier in their rehabilitation. Thanks to a grant awarded by the Foundation three years ago, The Ahmanson Foundation Fracture Center added to the Harbison Radiology department the Curve Beam, the most advanced CT scanner on the market today.
