Oregon’s Longview Ranch Harnesses Cowboy Roots

Located along Central Oregon’s historic Route 19 in Kimberly, Longview Ranch maintains 30,000 stunning acres of diverse landscape.

Every winter, Oregon's Longview Ranch welcomes nearly 700 new calves, which are branded throughout a five day period in March at a rate of 140 calves a day. Longview Ranch prides itself on branding calves the tried-and-true and, ultimately, more humane way, which involves roping the calves and bringing them to the fire. This process is proven less stressful on the calves, and is authentic to Longview Ranch's cowboy roots.

Each calf gets the “LV” brand on its left hip, after which it is returned to their mother and spends the summer on the open range throughout Longview Ranch’s vast property, which is also home to three tributaries 25,000 acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) grazing grounds and 485 acres of irrigated hay producing land.
