MEMRI Marks UN International Translation Day

WASHINGTON, DC / ACCESSWIRE / September 30, 2021 / Today, the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) marks International Translation Day, a UN-designated day recognizing the crucial role played by translation professionals in connecting our world.

For over two decades, MEMRI has been publishing free translations and analysis of print and broadcast media content from around the globe, helping to bridge the language gap between the West and the Middle East and South Asia. Our international team of translation professionals works around the clock to provide accurate and timely content from Arabic, Farsi, Turkish, Dari, Urdu, Pashto, Russian, and Chinese media.

MEMRI's recently launched Russian and Chinese Media Studies projects translate the media of these countries to help the West better understand their ideological and political visions and aims, as well as their involvement in the Middle East and its implications for U.S. foreign policy.

In addition to keeping our readers informed about current issues, MEMRI works with government agencies, counterterrorism officials, militaries, and law enforcement to prevent terror attacks and stop online propaganda and recruitment efforts by terrorist and extremist groups.

As one of the world's most productive nonprofit think tanks, so far in 2021 MEMRI has published over 685 translations, analysis pieces and announcements, and over 520 MEMRI TV clips; in 2020, MEMRI TV clips had over 30 million views. MEMRI provides this research and analysis to the public on our website free of charge - but we need your support to keep it that way.

Please consider honoring International Translation Day with a donation to MEMRI, so that we can continue our vitally important work. Your gift will help ensure the success of our programs and initiatives in 2021 and beyond. Nobody else is doing the work that MEMRI does. We rely on donations from dedicated supporters like you to fund our research - and with heightened tensions in our countries of focus as well as domestically, our work is more important than ever.

Your donation is 100% tax-deductible. You may donate online at www.memri.org/donate, mail a check to MEMRI, P.O. Box 27837, Washington, DC 20038-7837, or call us at 202-955-9070.
