Schaeffer's Sentiment Snapshot: AutoNation, Inc. (AN)

Bullish bets revved higher on AutoNation, Inc. (NYSE: AN) on Friday. As reported in this morning's Opening View, the car concern saw more than 15,000 calls cross the tape – nearly 13 times its average daily volume of fewer than 900 contracts.

Most of the optimistic activity centered on AN's December 10 call, with volume of 15,000 contracts changing hands. However, despite this strike boasting roughly 10,100 contracts in open interest, the security's December 5 strike is currently home to peak call open interest in the soon-to-expire front-month series of options, with 13,165 contracts in residence.
