BioCell unveiled Microfluidic Chip Test Technology, bring a new upgrade to accurate evaluation for skincare

On November 20, 2024, Shaanxi BioCell General Testing held the global launch of “Microfluidic Cell and Organ-on-a-Chip Test Technology” in Changshu, China. It grandly launched the CytoPOC® microfluidic cell and organ-on-a-chip test technology platform with independent intellectual property. Relying on this platform, it has created multiple microfluidic chip products and test technology systems. This launch invited more than 80 well-known international and domestic cosmetics brands and raw material suppliers, more than 20 well-known media, and more than 200 experts in the cosmetics industry to gather together to witness this milestone moment of BioCell.

At this launch, BioCell showed a variety of microfluidic chips, each with unique advantages and application values, greatly promoting the productization and commercialization process of microfluidic chip. Compared with traditional test technologies, microfluidic chip technology has unique advantages. When combined with integrated test technology, it can achieve test and analysis of multi-dimensional indicators more quickly and efficiently, meeting the high-throughput screening and efficacy research of raw materials and products. This is of great significance for improving the quality and efficiency of product research and development.

Microfluidic Chip for Cytotoxicity Test

Microfluidic chip for cytotoxicity test integrates multi-sample concentration generation, precise sample exposure, automated MTT staining and AI data analysis, which can increase the cytotoxicity test efficiency by more than 10 times and greatly shorten the test period of cosmetic raw materials.

Microfluidic Chip for Single Cell Analysis

Microfluidic chip for single cell analysis breaks through the limitation of insufficient test sensitivity of traditional cell culture systems. It can accurately capture every move of a single cell and realize the dynamic capture, morphological tracking and functional analysis of a single cell. It can also perform single-cell array culture. Combined with AI algorithms, it provides efficient support for product development and accurate evaluation.

Microfluidic Chip for Multiple Cell Coculture

This chip breaks through the limitations of traditional methods in cell interaction research. It can perform patterned co-culture of skin-related cells and construct skin barrier models. Microfluidic chip for skin organoid culture

This chip adopts the patented technology of arrayed cell capture microwell structure and 4D time-series controlled culture. It realizes precise developmental control of various skin organoids. For example, microfluidic chip for melanin full-thickness skin organoid culture, as an extremely innovative whitening efficacy test model, can achieve precise developmental control of melanin full-thickness skin organoids. It makes up for the simplification of traditional whitening efficacy test methods and can achieve accurate analysis of multi-dimensional test indicators such as tissues, cells, and molecules. Efficacy test can be performed after 4 hours of single-chip culture, and high-throughput cell analysis can be completed within 3 seconds, significantly improving the test efficiency. 

In terms of anti-wrinkle efficacy, microfluidic chip for dermis organoid culture can quickly construct a dermal skin model and simulate the fluid effect on cells in the human skin environment. Different from traditional test which is only based on fibroblast, it can more accurately predict skin dynamic changes by constructing the physical and chemical environment between ECM and fibroblasts.

At this launch, centered around the topic of "The value of innovative and accurate evaluation for cosmetics development", Mr. Lu Yongbo, the general manager of BioCell, served as the moderator. At this launch, the industry's first seminar on group standards based on microfluidic chip test technology was grandly held. This meeting focused on the discussion of the key standard "Evaluation of anti-wrinkle effect of cosmetics - Determination of collagen type I and SA-β-Gal contents based on three-dimensional fibroblasts microsphere". This meeting will undoubtedly have a profound impact on the standardization process and industry application of microfluidic chip technology, and also provides more diversified choices for the evaluation of anti-wrinkle efficacy of cosmetics.
