1. Sealed storage
The label on the fiber optic cable reel must be sealed and stored, because the label contains important information, such as the fiber optic cable instruction, attenuation value, bandwidth and cable length, etc. These parameters are important information for the fiber optic cable, which needs to be well preserved for future use.
2. Place the cable reel on a flat place
When storing the optical cable, the optical cable needs to be placed in a flat place, the optical cable reel needs to be placed upright in the flat position, and the optical cable reel needs to be kept from moving freely. Do not place the fiber optic cable spool on a flange, otherwise, the fiber optic cable may be damaged when unrolled
3. Protect the end of the optical cable
Protective covers for fiber optic cables prevent moisture from entering the ends of the fiber optic cable, and they protect the most fragile and sensitive parts of the fiber optic cable. Without the protective cover, the fiber optic cable will be exposed and likely to be contaminated, which also increases the risk of scratching and corrosion of the fiber optic cable.
4. When replacing the optical cable reel, do not exceed the minimum bending radius
When rewinding the cable to another reel, the diameter of the new cable reel should not be smaller than the minimum bend radius of the cable, otherwise the cable will be damaged and its performance will be affected. Note that when replacing a new fiber optic cable reel, the original cable label needs to be affixed to facilitate future verification.
