Racial, ethnic and income inequity are clearly reflected in Dallas’ aging housing stock. The older age of many homes, combined with a historical lack of maintenance and limited availability of funds for repairs in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, threatens to exacerbate already high poverty rates, a widening wealth gap and other economic inequalities.
