DWS Donates $220,000 to Feeding America, Providing Coronavirus Relief in the US

DWS, one of the world's leading asset managers, announced today that it has donated USD $220,000 to Feeding America®, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization. The donation is part of the firm’s continued support to help mitigate the effects of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic globally, and invest in the sustainability of communities by aiding relief programs. Funds will be allocated to food banks in cities across the U.S. to help provide vulnerable communities with meals during this unprecedented time of need.

“We are proud to be joining forces with Feeding America where we know our support can make an immediate impact to people who need it most during this unimaginably challenging and uncertain time,” said Mark Cullen, CEO of DWS Americas. “As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to threaten our health and economy, it has never been more important and necessary for people to come together for the greater good. With this donation, we will provide thousands of meals to individuals and families across the country who need it most.”

Feeding America will provide donations to local member food banks where DWS has a presence - in New York, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Costa Mesa, Dallas, Jacksonville, San Francisco and Seattle.

“Feeding America is incredibly thankful for the generous donation from DWS. Their support will help local food banks secure resources for communities across the country during this time of extraordinary need,” said Lauren Biedron, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at Feeding America.

“We are proud to support Feeding America’s work aiding communities which have been hard hit by the Coronavirus pandemic,” said Asoka Woehrmann, Chief Executive Officer of DWS Group. "These are challenging times, but I am extremely pleased with how our employees are pulling together as one global team to take collective action in their local communities. We are looking forward to working together with Feeding America long-term.”

In April, the firm announced a donation of EUR 1 million to charitable organizations in countries where DWS is active and which have been particularly hit hard by the health crisis. DWS has also encouraged its employees to make donations to these organizations.
