Avamere at Newberg Hosts Free Drive-Thru Lunch for Local Community

Avamere at Newberg, an assisted living and memory care community, is holding a free drive-thru lunch for the citizens of Newberg, Oregon. 

The drive-thru is open May 4, 2020 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch includes a sandwich, pasta salad, chips, fruit, cookies, and a water bottle.

“Newberg is a small, tight-knit community, and we want to continue to show that even through this pandemic, our community is invested in Newberg and the people who call it home,” stated Angela Newsom, Avamere at Newberg’s Executive Director. 

Inspiration for the drive-thru originated from other free meals and giveaways for first responders and school-aged children throughout the Newberg area.

“It really inspired us to create a free meal for our community that everyone would be able to participate in,” shared Skylar Walker, Director of Sales and Outreach for Avamere at Newberg.
