VCA Charities Pledges All Funds Raised in January Will Aid Australia’s Wildfire Animal Victims

Australia’s devastating wildfires have destroyed over nine million acres in the states of Queensland and New South Wales and have taken a severe toll on wildlife, livestock and family pets. It is estimated that up to a billion animals could be impacted. VCA Charities, along with the national network of VCA Animal Hospitals, have announced that all funds raised in January will be donated to veterinary animal welfare organizations in Australia who are working to help treat and care for pets and animals that have been rescued.

“It is heartbreaking when disastrous wildfires strike and all of us want to help the pets and animals affected,” said Brandon Antin, Vice President, Corporate Affairs for VCA. “All funds raised will go directly to organizations who continue to be on the front lines saving as many animals’ lives as possible. As one global VCA family, our veterinary associates are ready to support the animal welfare organizations who provide ongoing critical care assistance for so many of these animal victims.”

All funds will be utilized to provide veterinary care to pets and animals directly impacted by the Australian Wildfires. Donations can be made online at vcacharities.org or at any local VCA Animal Hospital across the country. For any questions, email Brandon Antin at brandon.antin@vca.com.
