GreenLogic, Long Island's solar panel design and installation experts, has recently introduced a solar rebate program covering the difference between the current 2019 and the lower 2020 federal solar tax credit.
The federal tax credits for residential and commercial (solar ITC) solar power installations were implemented by the U.S. government in an effort to promote green energy by providing a tax credit that can be applied to reduce federal income tax payments. However, these credits will soon begin to diminish and, eventually, vanish over time. Currently, the federal government is offering a 30 percent tax credit to those that invest in residential solar systems or commercial solar power systems. At the end of 2019, the federal tax credit will go down to 26 percent for installations completed in 2020 unless laws are implemented to extend the solar ITC.
The GreenLogic solar rebate program will offset the four percent reduction in the 2020 solar tax credit for its clients. To lock in this solar installation rebate, clients must lock in their solar agreement before Jan. 1, 2020.
