Langley, BC - TheNewswire - October 1, 2019 - Iplayco Corporation Limited (TSXV:IPC) ("Iplayco" or the "Corporation"), a leading manufacturer of fun, safe play structures enjoyed by children of all ages, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Barry Macdonald to its Board of Directors. The appointment takes effect immediately. Mr. Macdonald is considered an independent director, since he has no direct or indirect material relationship with the Corporation that could, in the view of the Corporation's Board, reasonably interfere with the exercise of its judgment. Mr. Macdonald has been appointed to the Corporation's Audit Committee (as Chair), Compensation Committee and Corporate Governance Committee (the "Board Committees").
The Corporation's Board Committees are comprised of three independent directors. The Corporation's directors are to hold office until the next annual meeting of the shareholders, or until successors are elected or appointed.
Mr. Macdonald is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCA), a qualified corporate director (ICD.D) and a strategic advisor. Mr. Macdonald is a retired partner from PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada, after a 34-year career with the firm. Mr. Macdonald is immediate past Chair of the 17-member Board of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia. He is on the Board of EasyPark (Chair of their Governance Committee), Truvera Trust Corporation (Chair of their Board), Frontfundr (Chair of their Audit Committee) and past Chair of the Board of Valhalla International Games Studio (a Japanese video game producer).
Mr. Macdonald is passionate about community service. He chairs the Simon Fraser University ("SFU") Beedie Business Dean's External Advisory Board and chairs the SFU UniverCity Real Estate Trust. He is a past member of SFU's Board of Governors. He served on other non-profit boards including Arts Umbrella (immediate past Chair of their Foundation) and the Hong Kong Canada Business Association (past national Chair). During his time in Hong Kong, Mr. Macdonald was Chairman of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and served on various community boards.
Mr. Macdonald holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from SFU. In 2005, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia elected him into Fellowship for distinguished career and community achievements.
