Atlanta Institute of Music and Media Launches New Online Music Certificate Program

Atlanta Institute of Music and Media (AIMM), based in Duluth, Georgia, has announced that they have recently launched the new Online Certificate in Music and Technology with a Focus in Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard, or Voice. The Guitar and Bass focus are currently enrolling for Fall 2019. However, the Drums, Keyboard, and Voice focus will launch in 2020.

Nite Driscoll, President of the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media, says, “We are so happy to announce that we have launched the Online Music and Technology Certificate program consisting of 36 credits that are fully transferable to the Associate of Applied Science in Music and Technology Degree. The Certificate program is offered 100% online and contains courses designed to provide the student with the necessary education to further their musical and recording and engineering abilities.”

In the new Online Certificate program, the student will be able to pick an instrument of focus whether it is Bass, Drums, Guitar, Keyboard, or Voice, and complete courses specific to that particular instrument, as well as engineering and recording courses. The program was designed with the intermediate instrumentalists in mind, who also want to learn recording and engineering, in order to expand their opportunities in today’s evolving music industry. More information can be obtained by visiting AIMM's Instagram page.

However, it should be noted that what is currently enrolling is the Online Certificate in Music and Technology with a Focus in Guitar or Bass. The Drums, Keyboard and Voice focus will only become available in 2020.

AIMM also provides various enrollment alternatives for the completion of their Online Certificate Program. This allows for those who have a busy schedule or have an unconventional lifestyle. This program can be finished in 12 months of full-time enrollment, or 24 months of part-time enrollment. Students in the certificate program do not have to complete the required number of General Education Credits that are needed for the Music and Technology Associate Degree.

Meanwhile, the Online Certificate in Music and Technology with a Focus in Bass will teach the student how to perform live and in the studio in a variety of styles such as jazz, blues, fusion, rock, progressive rock, and Latin. The student will also take courses in chords, scales, music theory, reading, music appreciation, performance, life skills, and music business.

AIMM has other Certificate Programs like the Certificate in Music Production, which is on-site at their Atlanta campus. The ultimate goal of this particular program is to help the students in receiving the requisite education to enhance their recording and engineering abilities. This program will help students establish the skills necessary to become a professional and successful sound engineer. The program teaches the recording processes of editing, tracking, mixing, and mastering for digital and analog music production.

AIMM is also an AVID Training Partner and through this, they offer students the opportunity to become AVID Pro Tools Certified as they progress through the curriculum. AIMM also makes use of Ableton Live, which serves to bridge the gap between live performance and creative music production.

By using AVID Pro Tools, students will be able to learn both analog and digital music production, virtual instruments, microphone techniques, and effect plug-ins. They will also be able to hone their education in music theory fundamentals and keyboard skills that they can use for the digital audio workstation. AIMM’s Certificate in Music Production is a full-time only program.

AIMM provides an effective method for the vocational training of musicians, and audio production and recording engineering students. This is accomplished through a combination of a well-rounded curriculum, classroom instruction, stage performances, computer labs, recording studios, and live clinics.

AIMM has also recently published a blog post on what they consider to be the top three digital audio workstation software for beginner audio producers. Those who want to read related articles can checkout AIMM's blog. Meanwhile, those who require more information about the online certificate programs offered by AIMM can visit their website or contact them by phone or by email.
