The North Eastern part of India, especially the interior areas, have the highest number of children suffering from diseases related to poor nutrition and they also have the highest number of deaths among children under the age of five. According to the World Food Programme, India is home to 194.6 million undernourished people. That’s three times more than the entire population of France. Children born in the interior areas of North East India are more prone to the effects of early under nutrition.
