Voxpopme Launches Video Study, Provides Data Showing Apple Swings, Hits and Misses at the Apple Event 2019

Voxpopme video data reveals consumers' excitement and apprehension towards two of Apple's most anticipated services.

SALT LAKE CITY - March 28, 2019 - (Newswire.com)

This week, Apple announced several hotly anticipated services at the Apple Event 2019. Most notably, Apple introduced the world to Apple TV+ and Apple Card to bolster its entertainment and financial services respectively.

The new service announcements sent the internet into a frenzy, so Voxpopme asked consumers to react to the individual launches via an agile qualitative video study. For Apple Card, consumers were asked to explain whether they would consider applying for and using Apple Card, and why. Findings revealed a swing and a hit for Apple, especially amongst brand loyalists who already own and use Apple products.

Consumers are excited by the prospect of an Apple credit card and believe it will make their lives easier and more convenient. The rewards offered by the Apple Card are very appealing, too, with many respondents citing them as the main reason for their interest in switching or adding an Apple Card to their payment options. Despite the interest, some Apple Pay consumers don’t see the advantage the Apple Card has to offer over using their existing credit cards within Apple Pay the way they currently do. Conversely, Apple TV+ proved more of a swing and a miss for Apple based on Voxpopme’s second Apple Event video survey. Here, Voxpopme video data revealed reactions to this announcement as consumers shared whether they would consider subscribing to Apple’s new Apple TV+ streaming service, and why.

With so much competition from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and HBO Go, many consumers asked “what’s in it for me?” when considering the Apple TV+ service. Many stated they would need to see if the content was actually worthwhile before committing. Provisionally, consumers are hesitant to add more content to their repertoire or replace one of their favorite services, so Apple may have their work cut out.
