Montreal's Lifestyle Club L'Orage Makes History Again at the Salon de l'Amour

The first legal Lifestyle club in Canada made North American history at the annual Salon de l'Amour et de la Séduction trade show in Montreal on January 18th, 2019.

CARY, NC, February 28, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- L'Orage Club – Espace Libertin became the first club ever in North America to legally accept its members within its private play area, right in the heart of Place Bonaventure as the Salon de l'Amour took place.

This was the second time that Jean-Paul Labaye, the founder and owner of L'Orage, made Canadian history. In 2005, Mr. Labaye presented his case at the Supreme Court of Canada to legalize the existence of lifestyle clubs in Canada and won the right to operate l'Orage Club legally under the new legislation.

Together with its partner SDC.com, L'Orage Club created the SDC / L'Orage Zone Libertine, within which l'Orage set up a private play area that looked like the club itself, to ensure a pleasant experience.

Trade show attendees aged 18 and up who were not yet members of the club were able to purchase memberships to l'Orage on site if they wanted to enter this designated area. Canwest, the producers of the Salon de l'Amour and Taboo Shows across Canada, allowed l'Orage to operate the club, and were fully satisfied that l'Orage was adhering to the Supreme Court ruling of R. v. Labaye, [2005] 3 S.C.R. 728, 2005 SCC 80.

The lifestyle or the open minded world was well represented on and around the Zone Libertine's large dance floor, featuring music from local DJs, and various local vendors. There were seminars also hosted by L'Orage, as well as several workshops given by Lexi Sylver, producer and host of SDC's radio show Seek, Discover, and Create.
