Antibody Libraries from Diverse Species Are Available in Creative Biolabs

Creative Biolabs, a leading services provider for antibody library construction and screening, applied the phage display technology to generate antibody libraries from diverse species.

New York, US - Oct 23, 2018 Creative Biolabs, a leading services provider for antibody library construction and screening, applied the phage display technology to generate antibody libraries from diverse species.

In the past decades, the phage display technology has played a key role in “displaying” millions or even billions of different peptide or proteins. At present, the technology has been widely applied in the studies of protein-protein, protein-peptide and protein-DNA interactions. With years of experience in the field of antibody development, Creative Biolabs is able to make monoclonal antibodies from various host species, including but not limited to humans, monkeys, mice, rats, rabbits, chickens, camels, sharks, bovines, dogs, alligator, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, goats, sheep, horses, donkeys, ducks, zebrafish, porcine, cats, turkeys, quails, ostriches, geese.

“Through using bacteriophages, such as T4, T7 and the most common M13 filamentous phage, and fusing a protein encoding gene with a bacteriophage coat protein gene, the technology makes it possible to display protein on the phage surface. Thus, the protein’s interaction or binding ability with other molecules can be detected. Nevertheless, the isolation of monoclonal antibodies by use of large capacity phage antibody libraries is one of the most successful applications for the phage display technology.” said the key scientist in Creative Biolabs.

At present, constructing and screening immune library by the phage display technology has become an important part in producing monoclonal antibodies with high specificity and affinity. Besides, unlike the conventional hybridoma technology, the immune antibody libraries can be generated between any fusion partners.

The key scientist in Creative Biolabs also commented that, “This advantage enhances the chance of developing monoclonal antibodies from much more species. Usually, the phage-displayed immune antibody libraries are constructed in scFv and Fab formats, and the antibody gene repertoire is created based on the immunoglobulin gene of either spleen B cells (for immunized animals) or peripheral blood B cells (for immunized donors). Theoretically, provided sufficient genome information, we can construct antibody libraries for every species and develop the corresponding monoclonal antibodies by using our state-of-the-art phage display technology.”

About Creative Biolabs

As a leading custom service provider, Creative Biolabs is specialized in the field of antibody production and engineering. The company can produce mouse and rat monoclonal antibodies through using the hybridoma technology, and the monoclonal antibodies from humans, monkeys, rabbits, chickens, dogs, llamas and camels by using antibody library technologies. In addition, the company also provides services for bulk scale antibody manufacturing, including bacterial production of scFv, diabody, tandem scFv, miniantibody and Fab, and mammalian cell expression of minibody, chimeric IgG and IgG.
