Don Forman Auto Group Owner Fully Committed to Supporting Fox5 Surprise Squad

LAS VEGAS, NV / ACCESSWIRE / October 21, 2018 / Businessman Don Forman is committed all the way to continue helping the Fox5 Surprise Squad as long as they need him.

This is hardly a surprise considering that the idea of surprising unsuspecting families came from him in the first place. The owner of the Nissan dealership in both Las Vegas and Tustin, California has been giving away free cars to lucky families and recipients.

Helping 500 Lives and Counting

In the nearly five years after the Fox5 Surprise Squad has been conceptualized, the group already helped change more than 500 lives. Even today, the squad continues to roam around Las Vegas. They take calls from neighbors who will then nominate a particular family in need to be included in the list. Forman himself is not included in the evaluation process as he fully trusts the people behind the team to do the vetting for him.

"We seek to create ripples no matter how small they seem," he says. "Our hope is that the people we are able to help will pay it forward and also give small gestures of their own which will also inspire others to change."

Philanthropy Comes Easy for Forman

It's ingrained in his DNA. In fact, during the mass shooting in Route 91 Harvest festival in Las Vegas, he was among the first to give action. His Nissan dealership offered free rides to people who want to donate blood for the injured. It was also personal for Forman because several of his employees were at the festival and he immediately made some calls. Luckily, they survived the massacre unharmed.

People who wanted to donate blood only called the hotline provided by the Nissan dealership and a car would pick them up for the free ride. His employees were also prohibited from taking advantage of the opportunity by selling their passengers a car.

"It wasn't the right time. Yes, we sell cars but ultimately, we are members of this community first. We were there to do our part to ease the tragedy that took place. We were not there to sell cars," Forman says.

Forman has more than 200 employees and everybody, except the skeletal staff, pitched in. It's easy to volunteer your time when you see the owner himself on the front line. And that's the kind of leader the businessman is. He wouldn't have asked something from somebody that he couldn't do himself.
