Navigating Downtown Detroit just got a little easier – and a lot more eco-friendly, thanks to a fledgling start-up that’s set its sights on making Detroit the Silicon Valley of the east. Glyde, Detroit’s first company based scooter share service, has now opened for business, and is poised to have Detroiters reconsider their favorite means of transportation through giving them the option of adding a touch of adventure to their everyday commuting.
Founded and run by 24-year-old CEO Mike Hacham, Glyde is a local Detroit tech company that combines the latest technological know-how with a fierce commitment to giving back to the local community. More specifically, the company pledges to help improve the quality of life of all those residing in the areas wherein it operates by contributing to various projects that include, but are not limited to, boosting local schools’ infrastructure and fixing pedestrian rite of ways. Furthermore, Glyde has vowed to prioritize hiring veterans in acknowledgement of their valiant service to their country.

The company is currently in talks with the city of Detroit to expand its scooter sharing network to several areas in and surrounding Dowtown.
Glyde will soon launch its eponymous app, which will both complement and facilitate its scooter sharing program, on the iOS and Android platforms.
The Glyde app’s release date will be announced in future communications with the press. No further information is available at this time.
