By: PRLog
Partnership offers DR and HA in AWS and Microsoft Azure Cloud
AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Sept. 18, 2018 - PRLog -- Dbvisit and FlashGrid have announced a partnership that enables Oracle Database Standard Edition (SE) customers to run mission critical databases in Azure or AWS clouds and achieve High Availability (HA) with Oracle RAC that incorporates full Disaster Recovery (DR) capability with Dbvisit Standby.

Dbvisit Standby is designed for Oracle SE companies that require enterprise level DR and business continuity capability without complicated scripting or excessive costs.

Dbvisit Standby is available for both on-premises and cloud environments, with all major Cloud vendors, including Oracle, AWS and Microsoft Azure supported.

With both a graphical user interface (GUI) and access to the command line (CLI), Dbvisit Standby is simple to install, configure and administer. Features include failover, graceful switchover, support for Oracle RAC and ASM, along with a number of advanced features such as compression and encryption for archive log transportation.

For Oracle customers whose digital transformation strategy includes running mission-critical databases in the public cloud, the FlashGrid solution enables advanced networking and shared storage capabilities required for high-availability database clusters, such as Oracle RAC. The solution is available for public IaaS clouds including AWS and Azure. Using FlashGrid Cloud Provisioning, it is now possible to deploy highly available Oracle RAC database clusters in the cloud with just a few mouse clicks.

"Dbvisit and FlashGrid are a perfect combination to achieve database high availability in the cloud with disaster recovery to a cloud region of customer's choice. We have thoroughly validated the solution and are happy to recommend it to our customers and partners," says FlashGrid CEO Alex Miroshnichenko.

"FlashGrid's software-based architecture provides the opportunity for our Oracle Standard Edition customers to incorporate Oracle RAC solutions into their Microsoft Azure or AWS environments," says Dbvisit CTO Mike Donovan.

Chris Lawless, VP Product Management adds, "Our global partner network are always looking to expand the range of solutions available for their Oracle Standard Edition customers, and this partnership allows them to offer additional options where customers wish to use Oracle RAC in their Dbvisit Standby DR environment."
