JMI Equity Announces Promotions of Two Operating Executives to Partner, Promotes Three Others to Principal

JMI Equity, a growth equity firm focused on investing in leading software companies, today announced the promotions of Krishna Potarazu and Vincent Prajka to Partner. Potarazu and Prajka co-lead the firm’s Operational Excellence Group and are based in Baltimore. They will continue to work closely with their colleagues and management teams to enhance JMI’s portfolio companies’ operations, talent recruitment and retention, and sales and marketing to enable accelerated growth.

In addition, JMI announced the promotions of Sureel Sheth, Jackie Coombe, and Melissa Guttman to Principal, and Ryan Russell, Chase Thomet, and Mac Williams to Vice President. Sheth and Thomet are based in San Diego and Coombe, Guttman, Russell and Williams are in Baltimore.

About Krishna Potarazu

Potarazu joined JMI in 2008 and most recently served as a Senior Director at the firm. He is currently a director of CampusLogic and Intelex. His experience also includes automotiveMastermind (acquired by IHS Markit; NASDAQ: INFO), Axonify, CipherHealth, CoreHR, DoubleVerify (acquired by Providence Equity Partners), Healthx, Navicure (acquired by Bain Capital), PointClickCare, PowerPlan (acquired by Thoma Bravo), and Yello. Prior to joining JMI, Potarazu was a financial analyst in the general industrial group at Morgan Stanley. He received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.

About Vincent Prajka

Prajka joined JMI in 2015 and most recently served as a Senior Director at the firm. He is currently a director of Level Access. His experience also includes Arena, Benevity, Cosential, EMS Software (acquired by Accruent), Higher Logic, Rsam, and Seismic. Prior to joining JMI, Prajka was CFO of SonaCare Medical, LLC. He was previously vice president and CFO of the Enterprise Business Unit at Blackbaud, Inc. after serving as vice president of corporate development and strategy. Prajka received a BS in Economics from Binghamton University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

About Sureel Sheth

Sheth joined JMI in 2010 and most recently served as a Vice President. He is currently a director of Healthx. His investment experience also includes Adaptive Insights (acquired by Workday; NASDAQ: WDAY), Capsule Tech (acquired by Qualcomm; NASDAQ: QCOM), CipherHealth, Halogen (acquired by Saba Software), PointClickCare, and Yello. Prior to joining JMI, Sheth was a business analyst at McKinsey & Company. He received a BA in Economics and Human Biology from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

About Jackie Coombe

Coombe joined JMI in 2015 and oversees JMI’s investor relations, fundraising, and marketing initiatives. Prior to joining JMI, Coombe was an investment director at Cambridge Associates, an associate at General Atlantic, and an investment banking analyst at UBS. She received a BA in Political Science from Columbia University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

About Melissa Guttman

Guttman joined JMI in 2007 and focuses on the Firm’s internal talent-related initiatives, including recruiting and professional development. She received a BBA in Finance from Loyola College of Maryland and an MBA from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.

About Ryan Russell

Russell joined JMI in 2016 and was formerly a senior associate at Marlin Equity Partners. His investment experience includes Kronos and Schoology. Russell received a BA in History and Economics from Yale University.

About Chase Thomet

Thomet joined JMI in 2014 and was an investment banking analyst in the mergers & acquisitions group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. His investment experience includes Arena, Avecto (acquired by Bomgar), Code42, HackerRank, and Workfront. He received a BS in Commerce from Santa Clara University.

About Mac Williams

Williams joined JMI in 2016 and was previously an analyst at Tiger Veda Management, as well as an associate at New Mountain Capital and a mergers & acquisitions analyst at Lazard. His investment experience includes Benevity, Businessolver, Cosential, and Higher Logic. He received an AB from Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University with a Certificate in Finance.
