B. K. Smith is the Award-Winning Voice of the Lipstick Mountains Memoirs Series

By: PRLog
NEW YORK - July 10, 2018 - PRLog -- New Book #5 in the series "Manifest Destiny – Memoirs of a Dreaming Woman" combines Spirituality, Paranormal and Magic into one Romantic odyssey.

Unusual love prose is the specialty of author/artist B. K. Smith, who also penned the award-winning illustrated book "Laina & the Vamp" that stood out as Best Paranormal Romance, and Book #1 in this series "Chelsea Matinee - Memoirs of an Easy Woman" that won "Best Erotic Fiction" for eBooks in 2016. Smith writes about relationships that are fast and furious, sometimes tragic, too often realistic and also a bit unorthodox.

With a penchant for narrative and very quick and sometimes sharp language, she spins stories that keep you coming back wanting more. If you scratch the surface of her writings, you'll find universal messages carefully hidden in the folds of the silk dupioni drapes and against the silk-screened wallpaper that fills your imagination.

With a history of creating unexpected and sometimes startling endings, her work sticks long after reading it. There are either stunning or laugh-out-loud funny moments. He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he couldn't care less, he loves me, and about a dozen other women...I hate him.

B. K. Smith's fictionalized narratives are stories shared by strong and beautiful contemporary women who are complex, flawed and very determined. Very enjoyable and captivating, they document the social issues of the last half century in the voices, cadence and grammar, that stereotype the character. The stories in the Lipstick Mountains Memoirs are rich and blissfully decadent, but also have content and substance. Modern women will identify with the world of powerful men and challenging the circumstances where women must balance sexuality and purity, faith and reason; to manage their femininity and vulnerability; and to emerge ultimately as intelligent, thoughtful, and capable, occasionally wicked.

"Manifest Destiny – Memoirs of a Dreaming Woman" takes you into the astral layer where D. Maggie English, PhD writes preventive articles for healthcare magazines when she begins to see shadows and ghosts, and the apparition of a warrior stands outside the sliding glass doors watching her, and soon disappears back into the desert. At 5 o'clock the hand-woven Native-American rugs begin to unravel, the branches crackle in the fire place— it's Happy Hour and the spirits of this place wake up and begin to dance in the light and the shadows in a circle on the ceiling like Matisse's "La Danse."

Maggie meets the Indian Chief in the desert talking to his shadow; the Medicine man (Chases Parrots) rescues her when she faints from the heat on one of her hikes; and Boomer (Loud Thunder) performs magic tricks. She hikes the desert every day, picking up rocks and bleached bones that she arranges on the fireplace mantel. In the evening however, everything comes to life.

As a scientist, an epidemiologist, she knows that how or where it began directly affects how it will end. But confronted with spirits, angels that travel to and from some fascinating place where there are no limits or boundaries, she begins to understand that Science and Faith are two sides of the same coin. The Yin-and-Yang, light and dark, full moon and no moon at all.

Sometimes she is dreaming and the reader knows. But sometimes she is dreaming and even she doesn't realize it. Until she wakes and finds her clothes neatly folded and her hair tousled. Eventually it doesn't matter, they are the same. She has the "Dreaming Power," such a long way from her home on the beaches of the Long Island Sound, where she learned to read the clouds, those great galleons that bring the wind and the rain.

Maggie learns to release to her destiny by manifesting it.  Chase, the Medicine Man, has Coyote Power. He takes her to higher desert where they will prepare to ascend. He explains to her that where they are going there is no time. It always was and it always will be. The Ascension chakra is stimulated and she passes through it.

For readers who aren't believers, B. K. Smith provides the mathematical equation that cements the deal.
