New NECCO buyer emerges — and it also owns Pabst, Hostess and the Playboy Mansion

Ohio-based Spangler Candy Co. had the winning bid on NECCO’s assets following a May 23 bankruptcy auction. But the company “did not timely close the sale,” bankruptcy documents state.
