Cryptocurrencies are pulling the U.S. back to the 1830s, Fed official says

With the advent of cryptocurrencies, the U.S. is drifting back toward the pre-Civil War arrangement of multiple currencies trading with different values in different cities, said St. Louis Fed President James Bullard, on Monday.
