For years as a society we've been using vinyl stickers and they have been destroying our environment. Billions of vinyl stickers are bought, sold, and given away every year, turning them into a massive contributor to the micro plastic tragedy that is plaguing our waterways and environment.
Not only are they toxic to produce, but they are non-biodegradable. Traditional vinyl stickers degrade over time and litter plastic fragments that ultimately end up in our waterways and oceans. Our stickers on the other hand, are fully biodegrade leaving zero trace, unlike their vinyl counterparts. The vinyl sticker takes between 500 and 1,500 years to break down and is a plastic substance the earth cannot digest, and It’s an issue that no one has really talked about and no one is currently willing to address, until now. It wasn’t until Josh Glisan, Dust City Designs Founder & CEO, had actually been making Wood Stickers for a couple of years before he started digging deeper into the environmental impacts of vinyl stickers.
