Warp into all things space during the first-ever Reno Space Fest. The National Automobile Museum, Nevada Space Center and Sci-On!, “The Biggest Little Science + Fiction Film Festival in the World,” have joined forces to offer a schedule packed with interplanetary adventures, real and imagined. This four-day fête includes a science fiction shorts and student film competition, science documentaries, panel discussions and virtual reality experiences. Plus, a special May the Fourth Celebration will honor all things Star Wars, followed by the Anniversary of the First American in Space on May 5.

“With a lineup of space-based fun for all ages, Reno Space Fest will be a great opportunity to explore science, the ‘Star Wars’ phenomenon, and the contributions that women are making in space exploration,” said Jackie Frady, museum president and executive director. “We thank Nevada Space Center for developing this exceptional program.”
Participants will meet one of NASA’s first female flight controllers; hear from Marianne Dyson, an award-winning author of science and science fiction, in her “Passion for Space” presentation; preview the Nell J. Redfield Mission Control center; plus, so much more.
Reno Space Fest is co-hosted by the UNR Astronomy Club and the nonprofit 501(c)(3) Challenger Learning Center of Northern Nevada, with cooperation from Karen Burns Productions, the UNR College of Science, Grassroots Books, TMCC Aspiring Chefs Club and community leaders.
