VIMANA Global Establishes EEA Blockchain Airspace User Working Group

New EEA Working Group Is Significant Step Forward In Ensuring that Smart Cities and the World's Connected Airspace Will Benefit from Enterprise Ethereum Alliance Specifications

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - April 18, 2018 - (Newswire.com)

VIMANA Global, whose turnkey solutions fuse aerospace design with blockchain technology, announced today that it has established the EEA Blockchain Airspace User Working Group (WG) within The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA). As part of the world’s largest open-source blockchain initiative, the VIMANA-led User Working Group (WG) will address issues of using EEA blockchain specifications to support a wide range of urban mobility efforts including self-navigation traffic control and payments for various services. EEA members can join the Blockchain Airspace User WG through their member portal.

Smart Cities are looking to blockchain technology to deliver enterprise-grade applications that can be used by all stakeholders across a global commercial drone market. The new user WG will be responsible for solving the real-world challenges related to deploying and using Enterprise Ethereum Alliance-based standards to create a framework of interoperable solutions.

“When it comes to the Airspace market, operations, security, and multiplatform interoperability are the key areas where EEA members see real advantages to using Enterprise Ethereum Alliance standards to build global solutions,” said EEA Executive Director Ron Resnick. “We are thrilled to have VIMANA lead the new user working group where members can innovate, define and test new use cases that lead to the development of EEA published specs that accelerate international advancements in this rapidly growing space.”

EEA is the world’s largest open-source blockchain initiative with more than 450 member companies and offers the most industry-focused, member-driven working groups. EEA’s membership represents a wide variety of business sectors from every region of the world, including technology, banking, government, healthcare, energy, pharmaceuticals, marketing, and insurance, as well as a number of fast-growing Ethereum startups.

“Working with EEA is a natural fit for VIMANA,” said Evgeny Borisov, the CEO of VIMANA Global. “The EEA is focused on openness and interoperability. From the start, we have adopted an open approach, providing APIs, so that we can easily work with partners and anyone else who wants to share the benefits of our Blockchain Airspace User Working Group.”
