Honoring and Educating Tennessee's Great War Servicemen in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - April 3, 2018 - PRLog -- At the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park from April 6-8 the Ebony Doughboys, America's only organization of World War One re-enactors dedicated to honoring and educating the public of the heroic legacy of those African Americans who served in combat, will join scores of other living historians at "Fighting for Democracy: Tennessee's Great War Experiences at Home and Abroad".

This free, three-day event uses living-history to tell the story of Tennesseans' involvement in World War One. The Ebony Doughboys will be on-hand to share little-known facts about Meharry Medical School graduates who volunteered like: Drs. Rufus H. Bacote, Jesse L. Leach and Sherman B. Hickman and feature a play on the first African American fighter pilot, Eugene Bullard.

This event is organized by Tennessee State Parks and the Tennessee Great War Commission. Aircraft and automobiles of the era will be featured as will lectures and demonstrations about and of life on the home-front and front-lines.
