Orlando Neurological Center to Host Autism Spectrum Disorder Workshop

In honor of the 11th annual World Autism Awareness Day

ORLANDO, FL, April 03, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Plasticity Brain Centers of Orlando will be hosting a workshop on autism and developmental challenges. The event will take place from 9 a.m. - noon on Saturday, Apr. 7 at 2000 N Alafaya Trail, Suite 600, Orlando, FL.

The event is free to attend, but donations will be accepted and all proceeds will go to the Orlando Repertory Theatre (The REP). The REP is a Florida-based nonprofit organization that produces sensory-friendly performances that are specifically modified for individuals with sensory processing disorders and special needs. Attendees must be at least 16 years old, but must be accompanied by an adult if they're under 18 years old.

"We're holding this event to help raise awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as the treatments available for those diagnosed with ASD," said Dr. Emily Kalambaheti, DC, DACNB. "We are often approached by parents who have questions about their children with ASD, and we thought this would be an excellent opportunity to provide answers to their questions from a multidisciplinary perspective. It's also a great opportunity to get to know the people in our community and raise money for a wonderful organization, The Orlando Repertory Theatre."

The event will include a meet-and-greet, several presentations, and lunch served by Fresh Kitchen (with gluten-free and dairy-free options available). The schedule of events will proceed as follows:

9:00 AM- Coffee/Tea Meet-and-Greet
9:15 AM- Opening Remarks by Dr. Matthew M. Antonucci,
9:30 AM- Infantile/Primitive Reflexes: What are they and why do you want them gone? by Dr. Emily Kalambaheti

Plasticity Brain Centers offers non-invasive neuro rehabilitation based on a single scientific principle: the brain is capable of learning and changing throughout a patient's entire life. This is made possible through engagement with targeted neuro-receptors in a concept known as "neuroplasticity," an approach widely accepted by the scientific community, only available in leading-edge treatment centers.
