The 48V technology is used in data centers to address the growing need for 48V utilization to reduce TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and the increasing power demands from emerging CPUs. Wiwynn designed the advanced two-stage 48V solution for data centers to maximize utilization of existing server design and accelerate the 48V adoption.
Wiwynn’s two-stage 48V power solution is a 48V-to-12V power converter solution based on Renesas Electronics’ new SWitched Capacitor (SWC) converter technology. Wiwynn is the first server provider to develop the complete converter solution and implement it with state-of-the-art OCP (Open Compute Project) accepted servers.
The Renesas SWC converter provides a higher efficiency and cost-effective regulated output voltage to support a wide input supply range (40V to 54V) in the rack. Data centers can benefit from Wiwynn’s implementation of 48V power input to their existing 12V system designs by adding this independent solution right beside the 48V power supply. This breakthrough solution accelerates the adoption of 48V technology in data centers and reduces investment in the development stage while providing high power efficiency.
