A Family In The International Real World

"Life lessons were learned with the family on a worldwide adventure, from the oil patch of Texas, around the world and back again."

TULSA, OK, February 07, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- "Life lessons were learned with the family on a worldwide adventure, from the oil patch of Texas, around the world and back again."

Over more than two decades, author David Allard compiled journals while working in more than 20 countries. His observations of how the international oil business works, the politics, security risks, and challenges of moving a family from country to country are the basis of this first-person narrative.

Meet David and get a signed book at these events: 1) February 8th and 9th at the North American Prospect Exposition in Houston's downtown Convention Center, 2) March 3rd the Colorado Book Festival, Denver Central Library 10:30 am - 4:00 pm, 3) March 10th, Barnes & Noble will host a book signing at 14347 W Colfax Ave from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.

More than a story of oil and golf, the author writes about family life abroad. Exposure to diverse cultures, language challenges, housing, schooling and the social order. Using vibrant imagery, he shares the excitement of family tours, expeditions and excursions to exotic places including third-world countries - with an occasional golf game somewhere around the world. A thrilling story of oil exploration, conflict, perseverance and family is immersed in this industrial autobiographical novel.

As a petroleum geologist, David Allard has spent 35 years working with major and independent companies. As one reviewer stated: "His scientific approach to geology is mirrored by his sincere interest in what's above ground. He writes and behaves as the friendly American who appreciates and respects cultural differences, the local history and people."

"A World of Culture Oil and Golf" is a first-person account from an industry insider traveling the globe and navigating the locales and personalities involved in exploring for oil. A must read for anyone interested in the oil and gas industry, world cultures and for anyone moving family abroad.

David Allard worked for over 35 years as a petroleum geologist and from 1988 to 2006 worked internationally in more than 20 countries, including living with his family in Egypt and Scotland. He recently published a nonfiction book: "A World of Culture Oil and Golf" that covers a 20 year period of international and domestic USA business and historical aspects from the perspective of a staff geologist and in recent years in management. David has had a varied career involving many new field discoveries, publications and public presentations. Beginning in 2017, book marketing efforts include speaking events as a subject matter expert in petroleum geology and international experiences. He currently lives in Denver and still loves golf.
