Shawnee, OK - January 17, 2018 - (Newswire.com)

John Nichols, a retired associate professor of mathematics, has completed his new book, “Immanuel Baptist Church”:  a comprehensive book about the many ways Immanuel Baptist Church has become a blessing to the community of Shawnee and to the world through the years.

John shares, “Immanuel Baptist Church faced some difficult times also. Under Rev. Dan Brinkley, a costly new building was constructed at a cost of one hundred thousand dollars. However, a month after the new facility opened, the stock market collapsed in a selling frenzy known as Black Friday. Reverend Brinkley resigned one month later. Rev. H. H. Burton, a very capable and active pastor, accepted the call to the pulpit of Immanuel Baptist Church two months later and guided Immanuel Baptist Church for four difficult years. However, feeling his salary was a burden, Rev. Burton resigned in August 1933. The church asked him to stay until January 1934 when Rev. Thomas J. Doss came as the new leader of Immanuel Baptist Church.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, John Nichols’ new book is an eloquent historical book that features how Immanuel Baptist Church was founded and the people behind its strong foundation, and its ups and downs as it grows into a more faithful and stronger church.

More than taking into account the obedience of the people who helped in the founding of the church, Nichols is able to show God’s faithfulness in providing what those who seek him need. Imperfect as the leaders are, it takes a faithful God to help these people become the salt and light to the world—the very people who comprises the church that is not a mere physical building as perceived by most.

Readers can purchase “Immanuel Baptist Church” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Kobo, Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
