Startup broadcaster increasing international reach for upcoming live games
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Jan. 5, 2018 - PRLog -- NetCast Sports Network, a live streaming sports broadcaster that covers much of the Southeast U.S., announced that the network has integrated their broadcast platform with Spalk, which will allow NCSN to offer additional languages during upcoming games.

"One of our primary objectives in the coming year has been to increase the accessibility of our broadcasts," said Marcus Shockley, Executive Director for NetCast Sports Network, "I'm excited that within the first quarter of 2018, we'll be broadcasting in official languages to every corner of North and South America"

NCSN's first multilingual broadcast will occur on January 6, during select games of the Hoop Cities Invitational, a high school event in Winston-Salem, NC. While all of the games will have on site broadcasters in English, two of the games will also feature play-by-play in Portuguese, the official language spoken in Brazil. NCSN's commentator for the inaugural Portuguese broadcasts will be Felipe Souza, who has appeared on ESPN Brasil covering US high school hoops.

"ESPN Brasil, when it was launched, was the first version of the cable network that was country-specific," says Shockley, "so, in a way, we're sort of paying homage to the history of US sports broadcasting by adding Portuguese as our first language with the new platform. "

NCSN has plans to add Spanish and French in subsequent broadcasts, with other languages to follow. The Spalk platform is often described as a crowd-sourced sports commentary startup, and the company has already partnered with FIBA to offer broadcasts such as the U19 World Cup championships over the past summer. NCSN plans to utilize the service in a similar manner, offering fans more options for choosing the commentary language they prefer.
