Dr. McCants started her life with a series of disadvantages including being born to a teen-age mom, living as a share-cropper with her grandparents in the deep segregated south, and growing up so poor she had to be put on welfare after her mom died of drug related complications. But through it all, education was her guiding light to a new life. She went to college on scholarships and work-study, beating the odds with a Bachelor's in Science, a Master's in Education, and a Doctorate in Education (Ed. D.) focusing on Educational Administration.

She then dedicated her life to making sure every student in her sphere of influence had a shot at a better life like she did through education. She took all of her survival, all of her "mess," and turned it into a system that fast-tracked her from teacher to superintendent in 9 years, created a 6-Figure Educational Consulting Group, created a 6-Figure Insurance Agency with her husband and now is an International Best-Selling Author.
