Company Update: Raytheon Co (NYSE:RTN) – Poland closer to clinching $5 bln missile deal with Raytheon :minister

[Reuters] – Poland has made significant progress in its talks with U.S. defence firm Raytheon over a $5-billion missile defence system, Polish Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz said on Monday. “Indeed, the recent talks between Raytheon (and Poland) are very, very promising and one may say that a breakthrough has taken place,” Macierewicz told Reuters. “Raytheon has agreed to our minimal condition aimed at securing that at least 50 percent of the money which is to be spent of the Patriot system (Raytheon’s missile defence system) would be spent on works done by Polish plants,” he said. Read more on this. Raytheon Company (RTN) , with a current market cap of $40.04B, opened at $135.24. Looking at the equity, the company’s one day range is $134.30 to $135.94 and has traded between $95.32 and $137.34 over the past 12 months. RTN shares are currently priced at 18.86x this year’s forecasted earnings, which makes them relatively inexpensive compared to the industry’s 26.10x forward p/e ratio. And for income investors, the company pays shareholders $2.93 per share annually in dividends, yielding 2.17%. In a review of the consensus earnings estimate this quarter, 17 sell-side analysts are looking at $1.58 per share, which would be $0.07 worse than the year-ago quarter and a $0.01 sequential decrease. What we find to be interesting is that the full-year EPS estimate of $7.15 is a $0.39 better when compared to the previous year’s annual results. The quarterly earnings estimate is based on a consensus revenue forecast of the current quarter of $5.83 Billion. If realized, that would be a 0.34% decrease over the year-ago quarter.
