A celebration of amazing local food and drink at Symondsbury Estate!
This year’s event will see the iconic Symondsbury Estate open doors to some of Dorset’s very best food businesses and creators, as well as guests from Birdport and beyond.
The series of summer tastings will take place over the course of three events held throughout the month of August, they are;
- 7th August - Pomme Blushe, Godminster Cheese & Furleigh Wine
- 14th August - PureBeck Ice Cream, Somerset Cider Brandy & Chocolate Arthouse
- 28th August - Sea Sisters, Temple Cider & Olives et al.
Each of the events will run for six hours, providing attendees the very best opportunities to soak in the atmosphere of the day while also discovering the very best of Dorset’s incredible food scene. Guests will meet the makers, discover new favourites, and enjoy free tastings from a selection of fantastic producers.
Speaking of the upcoming events, the estate said: “Our Summer Tasting Tables are a celebration of amazing local food and drink, right here at Symondsbury Estate. It’s all about supporting independent producers and showcasing the very best of the South West’s vibrant food scene.”
The launch of the 2025 Summer Tasting Tables series additionally coincides with the opening of the venue’s brand new deli, which is set to bring an extra layer of luxury to each of the events.
Kicking off with Pomme Blushe
The triumvirate of events begins with the introduction of Symondsbury Estate’s newest Summer Tasting Tables producer, Pomme Blushe, who will join the company in its impressive new deli on Thursday, 7th August.
They will bring their beautifully bold and refreshing apple blends - a modern twist on traditional orchard drinks, handcrafted right here in Bridport to deliver something truly different and delicious.
A spokesperson said: “Pomme Blushe is produced in the heart of West Dorset near the Jurassic Coast. Our story began in 2004 when founder Helen and her family replanted a historic orchard with 24 varieties of apple trees.
“What started as an apple juice business grew into something more spirited – a refined apple aperitif designed to celebrate both land and ritual. We picked the apples and started pressing apple juice in ever-increasing quantities. In 2023, the idea of Pomme Blushe was born – to bring innovation to the apple market. Pomme Blushe was launched in 2024 with its signature Spritz.”
