Atlanta, GA - June 5, 2023 - The founder of a small Atlanta-based nonprofit discovered a globally recognized cancer champion and supporter when it comes to championing cancer research, prevention and promoting awareness about health and wellness for women and girls of color, in The Legend Paul Anthony, a three-time cancer survivor and member of the Grammy award-winning old-school music group, Full Force.
Dr. Paul Anthony is being honored by Queen of Hearts (QOH) Girls and Women Empowerment, a 501c3 nonprofit at their annual Gala for his many years of touching changing and saving lives. In doing so, he also looks to bring eyes and energy to QOH, by aligning with his 501C3 organization, Paul Anthony Cancer Champion Foundation.
“In addition to supporting healthcare in underprivileged areas and communities, the QOH organization holds our annual fundraising gala to not only support cancer research, but also to celebrate cancer survivors and remember and honor those who were overcome by it,” says Ethel Harris-Burkhaulter, founder of QOH Girls and Women Empowerment. “We are very excited and appreciative to have a major celebrity like Paul Anthony who has successfully walked the journey of battling cancer, agree to help bring awareness to what we’re doing,” said Harris-Burkhalter.
A member of the 1990’s R&B music group Full Force, Paul Anthony is internationally renowned for his work with many successful R&B, Hip Hop and Pop music artists as a producer and songwriter. These include Rihanna, the late James Brown, Nicky Minaj, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Justin Timberlake, The Black-Eyed Peas and the late American Tejano singer, Selena Quintanilla Pérez, to name just a few. Paul Anthony is also an actor known for starring in the ground-breaking urban classic films “House Party and House Party 2 in 1990 and 1991, featuring stars like Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell.
In addition to his legendary music, for more than 35 years, Paul Anthony has been spreading his powerful message of health, nutrition and renewal as a speaker, sharing his own successful cancer fight through his commitment to bodybuilding, fitness and nutrition and inspiring millions, including musicians, actors and athletes like Michael Jordan, Sugar Ray Leonard, Will Smith, Busta Rhymes, etc.
“I am honored to assist Ethel Harris-Burkhaulter and the Queen of Hearts Girls and Women Empowerment organization in their mission to help raise awareness about cancer research and prevention and how people can successfully fight cancer by better understanding the mind, body and spiritual connection,” says Paul Anthony, who is the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy and Humanitarianism from Leaders Esteemed Christian Bible University in Houston, TX., and is also the founder of the Paul Anthony Live Life Give Life Foundation, promoting cancer awareness, prevention and healthy living. “I look forward to participating in this event and doing what I can to help Queen of Hearts Girls and Women Empowerment, accomplish their goals for the upcoming fundraising gala,” he said.
In addition to Paul Anthony, The Queen of Hearts Gala to Support Cancer Research will also feature his good friend Chubb Rock, a hip-hop icon and nationally syndicated radio personality. Rock will present the Queen of Hearts Girls and Women Empowerment Lifetime Achievement Award to Paul Anthony. Musical performances will be provided by local Atlanta band, Something for the Soul.
The Gala fundraising event takes place on Saturday, October 28, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Hope Banquet Hall, located at 990 Pointe S Pkwy Jonesboro, GA 30238.
