Xsight Labs E1 Achieves Industry’s First Completion of SONiC-DASH Hero 800G Validation

Reaches significant testing milestone with 19% performance headroom 10 weeks after silicon arrival

Xsight Labs, a leading fabless semiconductor company, announced today that its E1-SoC, the industry’s highest-performance, software-defined multi-core DPU, has successfully passed the rigorous Disaggregated API for SONiC Hosts (DASH) testing, including the full-scale Hero 800G test. The E1 surpassed the validation requirements by 19% under the required test conditions. With this achievement, Xsight Labs is the first in the industry to pass DASH testing at this scale, reinforcing the capabilities and performance of its groundbreaking silicon.

The Hero 800G performance-at-scale validation benchmark testing was conducted by an independent testing lab using Keysight’s SONiC-DASH Hero 800G test solution, which supports the SONiC-DASH program by evaluating DPU/NIC hardware for cloud-scale, low-latency network performance in disaggregated environments running critical applications.

“Achieving this milestone only 10 weeks after the silicon arrived in our lab is a testament to the power and readiness of the Xsight Labs E1 SoC,” said Xsight Labs founding investor Avigdor Willenz. “The entire E1 team has the talent and focus to completely redefine what’s possible for cloud service providers to deliver performance and efficiency at scale for hyperscale data centers and GenAI factories.”

The E1 is designed to accelerate cloud and edge workloads with 64 Arm® Neoverse™ N2 cores integrated directly into the data path. In full-scale DASH Hero 800G testing, the E1 used 55 cores for processing, reserving the rest for Linux, SONiC, or other data plane tasks. E1 is the first SoC to exceed 12 million connections per second (CPS) required by the test, delivering 14.25 million CPS with 120 million background connections with zero dropped packets.

“Xsight Lab’s E1 achieving SONiC-DASH Hero 800G validation demonstrates a significant leap in what modern DPU architectures can deliver,” said Allen Weckel, Co-Found and Analyst, 650 Group. “Its ability to handle critical workloads in disaggregated environments with exceptional efficiency makes it especially relevant for hyperscalers building next-generation cloud, edge, and AI data centers. Xsight Labs’s E1 is demonstrating robust, low-latency performance that reflects the kind of innovation that drives increased performance across cloud and edge AI data centers.”

“There is no other Edge Server, DPU or Smart Switch silicon in the market capable of achieving these results with a single device, and certainly not with the true SDN level programmability pioneered in the E1 monolithic TSMC 5nm SOC,” said Ted Weatherford, Vice President, Business Development & Strategic Marketing, Xsight Labs. “The E1 not only passed the Microsoft DASH Hero test at 800G, it exceeded the required performance by 19%. The E1 passed DASH Hero testing effortlessly and with no packet drops, with over 120M background flows and over 14M connections per second! We are predicting up to an additional 40% performance increase in DASH Hero test results in the next few months as we stand up real systems with our strategic customer partners.”

In May 2025, Xsight Labs announced the market availability of its E1-SoC and the E1-Server. E1 is the first SoC in the E-Series, Xsight Labs’ SDN (Software Defined Network) Infrastructure Processor product family of fully programmable network accelerators built on TSMC’s advanced 5nm process technology.
