“We are delighted to be a partner of choice for Westinghouse on their nuclear new-build program. Celeros FT is committed to developing flow control solutions that help to deliver clean energy to the world, and nuclear is one of our focus industries,” said Jose Larios, CEO & President of Celeros FT. “Our winning combination of engineering expertise and fully accredited global facilities offer full lifecycle support to customers of our nuclear pumps and valves, ensuring that nuclear power plants operate safely and efficiently.”

Celeros FT is a global leader in nuclear pumps and valves based on more than 60 years of industry experience, manufacturing equipment from four certified facilities, including their flagship site in Burlington, Ontario. The company plays a central role in major nuclear power programs worldwide with products boasting 45-plus-year lifespans. Today, 65% of operational nuclear power plants globally feature Celeros FT’s ClydeUnion Pumps and Copes-Vulcan valve installations.

“Celeros FT’s known pumping technology and diverse range of high-quality industrial valves are used in nuclear plants around the world, helping contribute to safe and efficient plant operations,” said Dan Lipman, President of Westinghouse Energy Systems. “Their engineered-to-order products and solutions will help us expand our AP1000® technology and introduce new AP300™ projects in Canada and around the world, enhancing Canada’s global reputation as a leader in clean energy innovation.”

“By expanding our Canadian nuclear supply chain with experienced partners like Celeros FT, we are positioning Westinghouse to deliver North America’s next AP1000 plant quickly while bringing real economic benefits and high-quality jobs to Canada,” said John Gorman, President of Westinghouse Canada. “A four-unit AP1000 project in Canada would create 12,000 local jobs while delivering $28.7 billion Canadian dollars in GDP during construction.”

The announcement is the latest in a series of agreements with Canadian firms to support Westinghouse’s AP1000 and AP300 projects globally. For each AP1000 unit that is built outside of Canada, Westinghouse could generate almost $1 billion of Canadian dollars in gross domestic product (GDP) through local suppliers.

Owned by Canadian energy powerhouses Brookfield and Cameco, Westinghouse is the only nuclear vendor with an advanced, proven and fully operational Generation III+ reactor technology that is ready to be deployed in Canada and generate electricity by as early as 2035. A four-unit AP1000 facility in Canada can power at least three million homes while supporting $8.1 billion in GDP annually in ongoing operations. The four-unit project would also provide Canadian firms opportunities to support more than 30 AP1000 units in the pipeline globally.

Westinghouse Electric Company is shaping the future of carbon-free energy by providing safe, innovative nuclear and other clean power technologies and services globally. Westinghouse supplied the world’s first commercial pressurized water reactor in 1957 and the company’s technology is the basis for nearly one-half of the world's operating nuclear plants. Over 135 years of innovation makes Westinghouse the preferred partner for advanced technologies covering the complete nuclear energy life cycle.
