VikingCloud™ Achieves PCI Forensic Investigator Certification

The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) has certified one of the largest security vendors in the world, VikingCloud, as a PCI Forensic Investigator (PFI) Company for North America

VikingCloud, a leading provider of cybersecurity and compliance solutions, is announcing that its PCI Forensic Process and Methodology has been reviewed and approved by The Payment Card Industry Council (PCI) and all major credit card brands including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and JCB.

By joining a select group of fewer than 25 companies around the world holding this certification, VikingCloud’s customers based in North America can take advantage of a cybersecurity retainer that offers in-depth investigations in the unfortunate event of a security breach or data compromise.

As a result of the PFI certification, VikingCloud is now certified by the PCI Council to perform investigations for any breach size, including those larger than 30,000 breached records. VikingCloud is also authorized to review the outcome of a customer data breach investigation.

The PFI certification adds yet another highly beneficial accreditation to the list of services for the largest qualified security assessor (QSA) in the world and the leading provider of PCI services. VikingCloud’s other services and accreditations include 3DS, CPSA, DSS, P2PE, PIN, and SSF.

The news comes as hard-hitting statistics highlight the rise of global data breaches and subsequent high costs of attacks for companies of all sizes.

In 2021, large organizations of 10,000-25,000 employees hit by a data breach paid an average cost of $5.52 million per attack. At the same time, their smaller counterparts of companies with less than 500 employees have seen an increase from $2.35 million per attack in 2020 to $2.98 million in 2021, a 26.8% increase.

Commenting on the announcement Kevin Pierce, Chief Operating Officer at VikingCloud said: “As a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions for a broad range of organizations, we want to ensure we offer our customers every possible solution to enhance their cybersecurity protocols.

Our Process and Methodology around forensic investigations go above and beyond the minimal requirement to ensure customers have added value to our service. We’re incredibly proud to add another string to our bow, demonstrating our capabilities to keep organizations safe.”

Moving forward, VikingCloud will build on its PFI certification in North America to further extend its investigative offerings in the EMEA and APAC regions.
