With more than five decades of professional experience, Dr. Linowes has cultivated a career of excellence in management education and business administration.

Throughout his career, Dr. Linowes has focused on developing enlightened leaders and preventing unethical behavior in professional business environments. As part of these endeavors, Dr. Linowes has served as the president and founding professor of Clarewood University since 2016.

Adjacent to his primary endeavors, Dr. Linowes has served as an educator for the Foreign Services Institute, part of the United States Department of State, having initially joined the institution in 2003. To remain aware of developments within his field, he also maintains affiliation with organizations such as the International Personnel Association, the Association of Japanese Business Studies, the Fulbright Association and the International Public Management Association for Human Resources.

Dr. Linowes began his career in 1974 as an affiliate with the Matsushita Electric Industrial Company. He continued gaining valuable expertise in his field by joining Arthur Andersen & Co. in Washington, D.C., from 1975 to 1977, during which time he served as a senior systems analyst. In addition to working at the Harvard Business School, Ritsumeikan University and Goldman Sachs, Dr. Linowes notably excelled as a professor at the Kogod School of Business at American University from 1986 to 2019.

Before embarking on his vocational journey, Dr. Linowes pursued his own higher education, beginning with his time at Princeton University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in cybernetics in 1973. Shortly thereafter, he continued his studies at the University of Michigan and received a Master of Science in computer and communication sciences in 1975. Dr. Linowes concluded his collegiate career at Harvard University, achieving a Doctor of Business Administration in 1984.

Well-regarded for his scholarly output, Dr. Linowes has developed innovative approaches to education that considerably extend what is taught in the classroom. He also served as the editor for volumes one through five of "Portraits of Small Businesses from the Developing World," released between 1994 and 2010. Furthermore, as a contributing author, he has written articles featured in books such as "Emerging Trends in Japanese Business" in 1994 and "Japanese Direct Investment in the United States" in 1992. Dr. Linowes was also featured in the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) program "Writing Across the Curriculum" in 1993.

Dr. Linowes has been honored with several accolades throughout his career to commemorate his accomplishments. Most notably, he helped extend the Baldrige National Quality Award to the field of education in 1994. Additionally, he was recognized with the Fulbright Fellowship for Pedagogical Innovation in New Zealand in 1989. Reflecting on his achievements, he is particularly proud to have participated in the inaugural meeting of the Kogod Alumni Network of Greater New York. In the coming years, Dr. Linowes hopes to find further success building enlightened leaders for business and government in his role as president of Clarewood University.
