UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / October 23, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors Ethan J. Bryant, RN, MSN, MBA, as a Top Professional for his work in the field of nursing. Mr. Bryant is an assistant nurse manager at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. For his expertise in nursing, he was honored with inclusion in Marquis Who's Who in September 2025.

About Mr. Ethan Bryant
A native of Alabama, Mr. Bryant's early life experiences, combined with his interest in helping others, drew him to the medical field. Having started his career as a medic for a fire team, his fellow firefighters urged him to pursue nursing even though he had originally planned to be an elementary school principal. After researching his potential career path in education, he chose instead to become a nurse, viewing it as a more practical and fulfilling option.
Mr. Bryant earned an associate degree in nursing from Bishop State Community College and a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama. Additionally, he holds a master's degree in nursing administration from Grand Canyon University. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice in health care systems leadership at Chamberlain University.
In his current position at Johns Hopkins, Mr. Bryant oversees all operations in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and manages the nurses and support staff. A project that he is currently working on for his doctorate is a nurse resident mentorship, which will take place at the Children's Center at Johns Hopkins. Every first-year doctor will be mentored by a nurse, with the hope that collaboration will deepen between them as the doctor progresses from resident to fellow at the hospital.
"They will use the TeamSTEPPS (Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety) approach and collaborate with them, and honestly, just be a buddy," Mr. Bryant explains. "It's going to be a great program. I'm actually starting it in seven weeks. The pilot program is going to be in the PICU and, then hopefully by next year, July 1, it'll be launched out to the whole children's center."
The Impact of Technology in Nursing
Technology is having a serious impact on Mr. Bryant's field. Telemonitoring and telenursing are the newest trends. He points out that around nine years ago, the PICU at Johns Hopkins was the first to utilize telemedicine and telenursing. He anticipates that AI will continue to have a positive impact and looks forward to further developments.
"We lost a lot of good nurse leaders during COVID, but we have a lot of younger nurse leaders who are trying to thrive and want to learn. There are a lot of resources out there, especially with a lot of younger nurse leaders coming into nurse leader roles. So, we're just taking the opportunities to grow with them and teach them," Mr. Bryant says.
Finding Success in the Health Care Industry
Mr. Bryant attributes his success to stepping out of his comfort zone to build a network and engage in his community. Looking toward the future, his goal is to continue developing his leadership skills as he works to ensure that nurses excel, patients receive the best care and the PICU's effectiveness can be sustained for years to come.
