cellcom israel announces a purported class action filed against the company
While the Company has not issued any report concerning the matter set forth below, the Company’s controlling shareholder will report this matter under the Israeli reporting requirements and, consequently, the Company is filing this Form 6-K.
Netanya, Israel – October 22, 2015 – Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE: CEL) (TASE: CEL) (hereinafter: the "Company") announced today that a purported class action was filed against the Company, alleging, inter alia, that the Company unlawfully overcharged its customers in violation of their agreements, sent commercial messages to its customers and failed to comply with customer service requirements. The amount claimed from the Company, if the lawsuit is certified as a class action, was estimated by the plaintiff to be approximately NIS 270 million. At this preliminary stage, the Company is unable to assess the lawsuit's chances of success.
